Tactical Police Flashlight SMARTAX

Tactical flashlight with a maximum light output of 1 800 lumens and a beam distance of up to 510 meters provided by the Luminus SFT-40 Gen 2 LED chip. Smart electronics enables the lighting in 5 modes – four different brightness levels and a stroboscope.

We developed this flashlight in cooperation with experts from the armed forces to meet their requirements for professional use as precisely as possible.

Two-Switch Unique Design

This flashlight is equipped with two completely independent switches – a tactical tail switch and a front switch below the head. Each switch controls different light modes.

The tactical switch offers a medium light output suitable for searching enclosed spaces, preventing glare from light reflected off walls. Maximum brightness can be activated instantly without changing your thumb position – simply by pressing the switch sideways. This allows you to illuminate distant areas or disorient an opponent and reduce their spatial awareness.

The front switch provides low-intensity light, ideal for reading documents or searching inside a vehicle without dazzling the driver.

Flashlight Controls

On the tail of the flashlight, you will find the tactical switch. Pressing it turns the SMARTAX on in the 25% power mode or in strobe mode. A light press provides momentary lighting that lasts only while you hold the switch (tactical mode). If you lightly press the switch twice in quick succession, the strobe is activated in tactical mode. Once you fully press the switch, the flashlight will stay on in the selected mode continuously.

A short press on the side of the tactical switch activates the 100% output mode, which lasts only while the switch is held (tactical mode). To keep the light on continuously at full output, press and hold the side of the tactical switch for more than 3 seconds. Another press on the side of the switch will turn the flashlight off.

The well-designed tail section protects the switch from accidental activation. The rubberized button is comfortable to operate even while wearing duty gloves.

With the front switch located below the flashlight head, you can control these modes:

• 1,5%,
• 5%.

When the flashlight is turned off, holding the front switch for about one second will turn it on in the 1,5% mode. Holding the front switch again for about one second will turn it off.

Light Modes and Their Specifications

* The flashlight has a protection system that prevents it from overheating. If it is running in 100% power mode for more than 90 seconds, its light output will start to decrease continuously.

The above data has been measured in accordance with international flashlight testing standards ANSI/NEMA FL1 using the three-pole 18650 battery (3,7 V / 3200 mAh), which is delivered with flashlight, under laboratory conditions.

Durable Light Source

Body of the SMARTAX flashlight is made of highly durable aerospace duralumin type 6061. The front glass is made of polycarbonate. The flashlight is IP68 certified so you can take it to a dusty basement or a heavy downpour, it also withstands a 2m dive. The distinctive grooved surface, which is typical for ESP flashlights, ensures a secure and firm grip even in the rain or with sweaty hands. 

Alternative Self-Defense Tool

We conceived this light source as a so-called "defensive flashlight", which will serve you in crisis situations as an alternative self-defense device in the manner of a jawara or kubotan. You first temporarily blind the aggressor with a bright light or strobe that can be turned on with a tactical switch on the end cap. If the attack continues or escalates, you can then use a variety of different strikes – either with a solidified fist with the flashlight clenched in your palm or with the end of the flashlight protruding from your hand. The head of the flashlight is topped with punch tips that increase the intensity and effect of the strike.     

Power Supply

The flashlight is powered exclusively by one replaceable ESP 18650 three-pole battery (accumulator), which is included in the package. It features a protective circuit and a unique 3-pole design that ensures proper operation of both independent switches. The SMARTAX flashlight does not work with other types of batteries.

A colored battery level indicator in the front switch shows the charge level of the inserted battery. It lights up for 5 seconds after the flashlight is turned on.

• green:   100–70%,
• orange:   70–30%,
• red:   30–10%,
• red flashing:   critically low battery level (10–1%).

Battery Charging

The flashlight has a rubber-cap protected built-in USB-C connector that allows direct charging of inserted three-pole 18650 accumulator. It takes about 4 hours for the flashlight to be fully charged.

We will supply you with a cable with USB-A connector (the regular USB you know from your computer) so you can charge your SMARTAX flashlight through a smartphone charger, laptop or you can use a power bank. The cable is 50 cm long.

Front switch indicator informs you about the charging status:

• red:   the battery is charging,
• green:   the battery is fully charged,
• orange:   badly inserted or malfunctioning battery.

Please note that you can charge only the ESP three-pole 18650 Li-ion battery with a protective circuit. The flashlight cannot be used while charging. Although the supplied 18650 battery is unique, it can still be recharged in a standard external battery charger.

Carrying the Flashlight

We offer a swiveling holder of the type LHU-x4-34-24.26 for a convenient carrying of the flashlight during duty.

Thanks to the detachable metal clip, you can also carry it in your trouser pocket or on your belt. There are 2 eyelets on the flashlight end cap that are used to attach the hand strap.
